Darrell and Marion Scott opened their opticians in the heart of Ross-on-Wye in the early '90s, and what started as a small venture quickly grew. Eventually, they packed up their stylish frames and moved to the community hospital. Known for their passion for eye-catching frames and world-class lenses, they made sure everyone in town not only saw better but looked fabulous too. After decades of dedication, they decided to retire in 2024.
Kington’s only optician was founded by David and Ethyl Joyce in 1969 as a cozy house practice, but soon became a trusted fixture on the high street. Over the next three decades, the Joyces provided top-notch sight tests, ensuring great eyecare for everyone in town! In the early 2000’s the couple decided it was time to hang up their optician boots to enjoy a well-deserved rest, handing the reins over to the Scotts – although David and Ethyl still pop-in from time to time and make sure were still doing things right.
Now, the legacy continues at both locations under the leadership of Mohammed Sajjad, who’s carrying on the tradition of brilliant eye care with a smile while bringing a fresh energy and new innovation. With a passion for keeping your eyes sharp and healthy, Saj promises to keep everyone seeing their best! Here's to many more years of eye care excellence—because at Scott's, we have our eyes on the future! (told you we’re full of bad jokes!)
